We are pleased to inform you that the 9th International Value Management Conference (IVMC08) will be held on 30th and 31st October 2008 at the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong. This Conference is a biannual event organized by The Hong Kong Institute of Value Management (HKIVM), which is a non-profit making institution to promote the application of Value Management (VM) in Hong Kong.

Our conference main theme titled “Achieving Sustainable Values through Collaboration” covers all aspects of organizations, including hard and soft issues, ranging from premises, facilities, designs, systems, production, procurement, supply and delivery, and human resource management. Our sub-themes are listed below:

How VM can assist in the definition of sustainability?

How VM can unblock difficulties for sustainable issues where major conflicts of stakeholders arise?

How VM can assist building relationships and business partners?

How VM uses collaboration and consensus to achieve better detail outcomes?

How sustainable is VM?

Over the past 13 years, the HKIVM has successfully organised a total 8 international VM conferences which attracted over 200 overseas prestige VM experts from 18 countries. These conferences provide opportunity for these experts to share their valuable knowledge and tremendous experience with local professionals. We are also delighted to announce that we have successfully recruited a group of professionals from Australia, China,Germany, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, UK and USA to form an international scientific committee.

On behalf of the Conference Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you and your colleagues to submit abstracts relating to our sub-themes or any topics related to VM.  Please find enclosed the Call for Paper flyer for your information and a list of key dates is given below:

1 March 2008            Start of abstract submission

30 April 2008             Deadline for abstract submission

31 May 2008             Notification of confirmed abstracts

31 July 2008              Deadline for full paper submission
